Calvary Chapel Santa Barbara Mission Trip to Alaska

Where?
Tanalian Bible Camp in Port Alsworth, AK

Why?
Remote Alaska is filled with wonder and beauty that inspires awe and adventure.
Like many places, alcohol, abuse and drugs, can smother hope and negatively impact a community.
The isolation of the villages can also limit access to resources.
Youth need hope for their future, but it is hard for them to dream when pain and brokenness keep life in survival mode. So many in the world are without hope and without God.

More than 500 Alaskans are directly impacted across 31 villages and communities each year through Tanalian Bible Camp. The goal is to see the ripple effect of one life impacting a family, changing a community, and transforming a generation. The desire is to have every child in Southwest Alaska have the opportunity to experience the hope of Christ through the camp programs. The vision is to see hope-filled Alaskans glorifying God by leading healthy families and communities.

What?
Programming includes daily chapel, camp games, archery, basketball, canoeing, crafts, hiking, paint ball, volleyball, etc. All are used as avenues to build relationship, have intentional conversations with campers, and share the love of Jesus.

Some example Camp Volunteer Positions: Counselor, Assistant Cook, Support Staff, Media Coordinator, Lifeguard, Speaker, Worship Team, etc… We'll work with you to determine the role that will be the best fit for your giftings!
